Backcountry Bombin’ with Joel Loverin

I have been shooting with Joel Loverin more and more over the last few seasons. He prefers to ride more and talk less and you can usually find him in the backcountry with his crew bagging big lines even if the cameras are not rolling. He just dropped a little edit of some of his footage from last season that back up my claims. It is refreshing to work with a rider who would rather ride then build a huge cheese wedge these days, i’ll be interested to see the footage he comes up with this year.

Molly Milligan / Kalina Hornsby – Light Of Day

20080912_bralorne_girls_0019

The post about Helen yesterday got me thinking about past times shooting with her and I think that these photos might have been from the first day we shot together. A couple of Helen ended up getting used from this trip but unfortunately these ones never saw the light of day. I haven’t seen Kalina in years, but Molly is till around slaying it on her board. The girls had this secret pillow stash that we went to out of Bralorne and the snow was so deep on this trip that the girls just kept getting buried in the pillows. I hope we are going to have another one of those deep winters!

Eero Niemela – Light of Day

With the rain starting up over the last couple of days, I have been digging through the crates and dusting of the hard drives. I have been inspired by Russell & Dano to show some of my older photos that have never seen the light of day. The first one is a terrible scan of Eero Niemela from back in the film days, shot on ILFORD DELTA stock in the Pemberton British Columbia. This will be a ongoing topic on o.k. listen so expect to be seeing more.

This past winter Robin was working on a web series with a couple ladies and they recently put all the footage together and released a nice little piece. I haven’t spent much time shooting with these ladies but I did have a great trip with Robin and a few girls this past winter. Watch for the feature on that coming out soon from Snowboard Canada. For now grab a coffee and start getting stoked for winter.

I was making the rounds over the last couple of weeks hanging some new prints around town. If you are in the neighborhood make sure to stop in to 21 Steps for a beer and some delicious food and check out my new work hanging on the walls. The Whistler Arts Council is running the photo exhibit Out Of Bounds again this year with a great list of talented photographers involved I really am excited to see everyone’s work. The launch party is on October 11th at 7pm at Millennium Place stop in and check out all the pieces. One of the four I entered is  above of Trevan Salmon.
