Deep Winter Photo Challenge 2012

Trevan Salmon

Over the last week I competed in the Deep Winter Photo Challenge . The conditions could have been better, the light was amazing but the lack of fresh snow was the challenge to overcome this year. Everyone had a great show I thought, although the judges were not feeling my submission I am still very proud of what we accomplished in such a short time. My team consisted of Trevan Salmon, Wiley Tesso and Joel Loverin. Whistler Blackcomb is running a peoples choice award with online voting right now, stop by and check out everyone’s work and pick your favorite, the prize pack makes it worth your time. I had some great help this year Ross Tripp volunteered to be my assistant and did an amazing job, he caught some great behind the scenes shots on his instagram make sure you click through and check them out. As well Chili Thom proved once again that he is the ultimate jack of all trades by putting my show together in record time.

Check out my show below.

Push.ca just dropped the next video in their Living Legends series. This time around it is on Martin Gallant. They really did a great job on his interview, like always Martin is truthful and entertaining in it and it shows some great footage from over the years. Don’t miss out on it it really is worth the watch. Above is a slideshow that I put together in 2009 for the Island Lake Lodge Photo Shoot Out, where along with Helen Schettini and Justin Van Der Poelen and Martin we won best overall portfolio.

Thanks for all the good times Martin!

Last Decents Slideshow

The photo issue for Snowboard Canada just came out and is packed with some great photos and articles.  Feet and I worked together on a story in the issue, and I just put together a little slide show of some of the images that didn’t get used. I just wanted to take a minute and thank all the people that made it happen. The SBC crew for taking a chance and trying something a little different as well as offsetting the carbon cost for all our gas guzzling snowmobiles and trucks. Jay Greenway for the music.  Ryan Proctor for the lift tickets at Whistler Blackcomb, and last but certainly not least all of the riders for their efforts and skills. Without them none of it would be possible. If you have two minutes check it out and let me know what you think.
