This past winter Robin was working on a web series with a couple ladies and they recently put all the footage together and released a nice little piece. I haven’t spent much time shooting with these ladies but I did have a great trip with Robin and a few girls this past winter. Watch for the feature on that coming out soon from Snowboard Canada. For now grab a coffee and start getting stoked for winter.

I was making the rounds over the last couple of weeks hanging some new prints around town. If you are in the neighborhood make sure to stop in to 21 Steps for a beer and some delicious food and check out my new work hanging on the walls. The Whistler Arts Council is running the photo exhibit Out Of Bounds again this year with a great list of talented photographers involved I really am excited to see everyone’s work. The launch party is on October 11th at 7pm at Millennium Place stop in and check out all the pieces. One of the four I entered is  above of Trevan Salmon.

Deep Winter Photo Challenge 2012

Over the last week I competed in the Deep Winter Photo Challenge . The conditions could have been better, the light was amazing but the lack of fresh snow was the challenge to overcome this year. Everyone had a great show I thought, although the judges were not feeling my submission I am still very proud of what we accomplished in such a short time. My team consisted of Trevan Salmon, Wiley Tesso and Joel Loverin. Whistler Blackcomb is running a peoples choice award with online voting right now, stop by and check out everyone’s work and pick your favorite, the prize pack makes it worth your time. I had some great help this year Ross Tripp volunteered to be my assistant and did an amazing job, he caught some great behind the scenes shots on his instagram make sure you click through and check them out. As well Chili Thom proved once again that he is the ultimate jack of all trades by putting my show together in record time.

Check out my show below.

Snowboard Canada Cover

SNOW.20.3_COVER.indd

One of my images just landed on the cover of the newest issue of Snowboard Canada. It is from a trip I did last season while I was on assignment for them, we were lucky enough to get shown around by Pat Kitto and a couple of the  island locals and came away from the trip with a bunch of bangers. I will be showing more from the trip once the magazine is out, for now here is the cover.

Thanks to the crew at SBC for the support over the years, as well as Joel for sending it!

I have been on a bit of a contest spree lately. I posted earlier about the PDN contest, and thought I would take a chance with this new one called THE OPEN. Turns out the shot of Shin made photo of the day on their blog. Thanks so much guys, make sure you check out the contest there is such a great variety of shots in it already.

Above is a shot of Shin from the same day, we need some snow I am itching to get out there. Click through the links to see what I have in the contest.

Coast Mountain Culture

A new mag just dropped their first issue and they have come out of the gate strong. Coast Mountain Culture is covering the Pacific North West and everything that is awesome about the rivers, oceans, mountains and people. I especially liked the article the Long White Line about the most ambitious ski traverse ever by Geoff Powter. Mike Berard put out the call looking for a Pacific North West Snowboarding images, and I was honoured when they chose one of mine. Martin has been exploring these mountains for many years now, on this day we were out trying to get a cover shot for his sbc interview. Unfortunately the snow on the feature we were hoping to hit did not want to cooperate, however on the opposite face there was still plenty of snow to be had and Martin made the most of it.

Thanks Mike and Peter from Coast Mountain looking forward to the second issue already.
